CSS Mania Recognition...
One of my sites from work was recently featured on leading CSS Galley "CSS Mania". CSS Mania is described as "the largest CSS showcase in the world" and showcases outstanding examples of webdesign, so to feature on my first attempt was worthy of a 'big up'. Will i be submitting in the future...maybe...if i do submit in the future will my sites be showcased?...most probably yes.

Christopher Pinches joins IHM...
Howdy y'all. I have recently begun a new role as a Creative Web Designer at in.house.media. At ihm I will be working with several skilled programmers who I hope to learn from in my quest to further my Web Design skill-set. I would particulary like to learn jquery (a form of javascript) in order to make my sites more immersive for the end user.

Welcome to the New Site...
After finally putting aside a few hours the site has arrived. Basically like most portfolio sites I will use the site as an experimental area as well as a place where i can showcase finished works. After you've had a look round don't just make tracks post-haste...but instead take 2 minutes to feedback and give me your opinions on apsects you like and things you might change.

Wildlife Photographer of the Year
This was quite simply the best photography exhibition I have ever seen; get it how I lived it NOW! It was unlike any exhibition I had been to with the images being displayed on high definition, digital screens, which gave them an amazing feel.
The whole ambience was set perfectly from the moment I opened the door with dim lighting and subtle, epic sounds humming out of gaps. It was almost impossible to pick my favourite image; but the Winner of “Animal Behaviour: Birds” category edges the choice for me, by telling a story which is just as compelling as the picture itself. (Please note that the image on the right doesn’t begin to do the actual gallery image justice; it is simply an exhibition you have to see to comprehend.) The image shows a pugnacious, immature Eagle cutting all sorts of mad angles and making all sorts of noise; juxtaposed with this is the experienced male Eagle who takes up less of the canvas and is calmness personified. It is a shot you need to look at a little bit harder and for longer (a bit like a magic eye) before it finally becomes clear that the calm more mature eagle actually goes on to school the younger louder bird. An image which certainly alludes to the adage “less bark; more bite”. The best exhibition you will see this year: period.

The Design Musuem
It had been a few years since I had visted this great little musuem and media talk of an L.E.D styled dress brought me back again. There are two floors worth of exhibition space at the and not surprisingly it was at the second (which housed graphic ,digital and product design) of these which i migrated towards. Various works from different sectors which had won British Design Awards were being celebrated. The Big Brother logo won the brand award for the way its logo had seeminly changed beyond all recognition in each yearly instance, yet still retained the core shape of the eye making each logo easily recogisable. Another exhibits which deserves a mention is the flower dress, which when creased transformed the flat graphical flower into it's natural shape (See image on right). Finally a long thin table designed by a formula one brain was very impressive from a visual and technical point of view.

Social Networking
Although I'm not the biggest fan of social networks for friendly / social purposes, it is necessary to be involved with the likes of Facebook, Twitter and Linked in in order to gauge their potential for promoting sites and to spread the word on new products. Just click on the links below to view my page on each of these where grudgingly i will try to keep an active presence.
